I actually liked Gascon's death, it was a really poignant yet beautiful way to complete his arc, he goes from a pragmatic outlaw, a man who was deemed to be selfish with no honor to a man who essentially saved the north in one of the most honorable and selflessness acts of sacrifices ever. All for the sake of those he has grown to admire and respect. Despite his life as a criminal he dies a hero and is buried with honor.

Nothing really important at face value but this particular line piqued my interest: "It also happens that a normal fellow can cast a curse, someone whose conscience is clear and who has done good in their life. Such a person can acquire power and thus the aggrieved can place a curse on the evildoer." This reminded me of Olgierd's story involving the Ofieri prince. O told Geralt that he "cursed" the prince, innocent that it will come true. Maybe this applies? Just thought sharing it here as another argument that Olgierd has always been good. I know some users believe O was bad. I mean, I poked holes at this theory too. For one, there's no evidence that the prince was evil (i.e. an evildoer, making him susceptible to such curses). But we cannot deny that by his definition, O was the aggrieved party. Out of distress, he carelessly cursed the prince.
